MEDICARE, HEALTH & LIFE INSURANCE

Options for Southern Pines, Moore County,
and all of North Carolina

Patient with Healthcare Nurse

Whether you’re turning 65, comparing Medicare plans, or looking for health and life insurance for your family, The Insurance Center is a local, independent agency serving Southern Pines, Pinehurst, and all of Moore County. We work with multiple carriers, not just one, so the advice you get is about what fits your situation, not a sales quota.

Turning 65? Here's How We Can Help with Medicare

If you’re approaching 65 or already eligible for Medicare, the number of plan choices can be overwhelming. As an independent agency, we help Southern Pines and Moore County residents compare options across Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, and Part D prescription drug plans, so you can choose coverage that
fits your health needs and budget.

  • Medicare Advantage (Part C): Bundled plans that often include extra benefits like dental, vision, or hearing coverage.

  • Medicare Supplement (Medigap): Plans that work alongside Original Medicare to help cover out-of-pocket costs like copays and deductibles.

  • Part D Prescription Drug Plans: Standalone coverage to help manage medication costs.

There’s no cost to sit down with us. We’ll walk through your current coverage, your doctors and prescriptions, and your budget, then show you the plans available in
Moore County that make sense for you.

Already a Health or Life Insurance Client? We Handle Medicare Too

If you’ve worked with us for your health or life insurance, you may not know we also help with Medicare. As your local independent agent, we can review your Medicare options alongside your other coverage, so everything works together instead of being handled by three different companies.

Health Insurance Coverage

Outside of Medicare, health insurance generally falls into two categories:

  • Fee-for-Service plans: You see any doctor you choose, and the claim is filed by you or your provider.

  • Managed Care plans (HMOs, PPOs, POS plans): More than half of Americans are enrolled in a managed care plan. These plans offer a network of providers and often lower costs when you stay in-network.

We’ll help you compare plans based on your doctors, your budget, and the coverage that matters most to you.

Life Insurance Options

Life insurance generally falls into two categories:

  • Term life insurance: Coverage for a specific period, useful for needs that will eventually go away, like a mortgage or the years before your kids are financially independent.

  • Permanent life insurance: Lifelong coverage that builds cash value over time, as long as premiums are paid.

The right choice depends on your goals and budget. We’ll help you figure out what makes sense for your situation, not just sell you a policy.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement?
Medicare Advantage plans bundle your hospital, medical, and often drug coverage into one plan, frequently with extra benefits. Medicare Supplement plans work alongside Original Medicare to help cover costs like copays and deductibles and are usually paired with a separate Part D drug plan.

When should I enroll in Medicare?
Most people become eligible at 65 and have a 7-month Initial Enrollment Period around their birthday. There are also annual windows, like the Annual Enrollment Period each fall, to review or change coverage. We can help you figure out which enrollment period applies to you.

Is there a cost to meet with an agent?
No. There’s no charge to sit down with us and review your Medicare, health, or life insurance options.

Are you affiliated with Medicare or the federal government?
No. The Insurance Center is an independent, local agency. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the Medicare program or any government agency.
